Saving Private Ryan - Where Is the Hedgehog
When Cpt. Miller lands ashore, he finds refuge next to a so-called hedgehog metal tank obstacle. The beach is in fact full of the damn things. Miller is taking cover on the right side of his hedgehog. He paralized by shellshock and looks around slowly. He sees a young fellow screaming behind a hedgehog, three guys wiped out by a flamthrower tank explosion and then...
he looks over to his left and sees a bunch of unlucky bastards running out of a landing craft flaming. He has a neat unobstructed view. What happened to the hedgehog he was hiding behind and should have been in this moment to his left covering his ass?

These are brave American soldiers, facing a terrible situation. Please do not refer to them as 'Bastards'. Show a little respect.

If you watch carefully he has moved away from the hedgehog itself, and when the camera returns to his face he is on all fours putting his helmet back on and the hedgehog is to the left of him, no longer protecting or obstructing his view

Davo100, don't be so precious. Calling somebody a 'poor bastard' is not disrespectful. It expresses genuine sympathy for somebody. As for the poster who said that they were extras, I suspect that extras would not be trained for this, so I'm pretty sure they were well trained stuntmen.
