In the beginning of the movie when Cameron is in Ms. Perky's office, she is working on a novel. On her laptop screen, you can see the current time at the top right of the computer screen as 8:28 AM. Not even two minutes later, Patrick Verona comes into her office as Cameron is exiting. Right after Patrick leaves, the time on Ms. Perky's laptop screen magically travels 5 minutes into the future to 8:33 AM when the scene in its entirety took less than 3 minutes. The scene was seamless in transition of the characters, and there was no break in the plot, so 5 minutes was NOT a plausible time lapse. Oops!
