Deenie's friend, I forgot her name, wouldn't carry a rabbit's foot for good luck, because rabbits aren't kosher. Instead, she carried around a chicken's foot. But, later on in the book, it says that this same friend dropped a piece of ham from her mouth. Any good Jew knows, that ham isn't kosher!
