In the movie there is a slip-up that few can notice. Right after the boardroom scene at ABC where Andy Kaufman’s TV special is turned down and called “s*$%”we see him working at Jerry’s Famous Deli as a bus boy. George Shapiro (Danny Devito’s character), his agent, comes to see him. And in the background we see bowling at Jerry’s bowling lanes. This scene was filmed at the real Jerry’s deli that I have visited many times. The bowling lane in view has a modern keyboard and screen setup that was installed a few years ago. The system lets users type up their names and automatically displays their scores on TV’s mounted on the ceiling above the lane. The system certainly wasn’t in place when Kaufman was alive; in fact, it probably wasn’t even scientifically possible at that time.
