Come on mate, surly you can see that the sound is only there to add as a visual aid so that to produce some spatial atmosphere, not to reproduce the exact sound of an owl cruising through the air at high speeds! Anyway, it's a magic owl, it can make what ever sound it wants to!! ;)

Owls most certainly DO make flapping sounds when they fly. There is a large barn owl that lives (surprise) in a barn near my house. You can hear it quite plainly flying from its roost probably 500 feet away and two stories in the air. Owls glide very quietly, but flapping does cause noise. In the winter scene, the part that bothered me was where the owl glides and gains altitude. Generally when birds of prey glide upwards they are catching thermal up-currents rising from the ground. The kind of currents that don't rise from snow covered ground. But then again, this is a magic owl after all. :)

That part would have been very boring (not that it wasn't) without some emphasized effect. Just get over it. I mean, all you would have been able to hear was the music in the background. Oh, and I was too busy enjoying the movie to notice all these slip ups! :)

Well apparently your wrong, because they used a real owl in the movie. Believe me, I know.

Number one:my husband knows a lot about birds and owls do not make any noise in flight, flapping or gliding. Two:I also know they used a real owl because I have seen the owl in person.

Just because the owls are magic it doesn't mean they can perform magic. Werewolves, for example, are magic, but they don't fly or anything!
