Jurassic Park - Dock This Way?
In the scene with Nedri before he meets the Spitter, he is trying to locate the dock to escape the hurricane or whatever. He sees a sign with an arrow pointing the way (the one he's about the knock over with his Jeep.) I haven't watched the movie in a while, but I remember that the first time you see this sign, it's pointing one way, and in the next shot when he gets closer it has rotated 90 degrees in some direction. So, don't worry, Nedri. The sign couldn't make up its mind BEFORE you hit it.

He spins the sign around after he hits it, remember?

Just a thought, but why a theme park that cost so much to build would only put 1 nail into a small wooden sign. Come on,how much could an extra nail in a sign cost?

Why can't Nedry work out the way to the dock after he hit the sign? He spins it to guess which way to go but if he looks at the sign he will see it is a map of the island showing the dock to be on the left hand side (no orientation given) Logically i would go left because i'd assume the map was shown the way you are going.

"[the sign is] a map of the island showing the dock to be on the left hand side" Bzzt. Wrong. ALL the Jurassic Park signs have a background of the island with a logo representing the thing the sign is about in a circle on the left (foreground). It wasn't a map. As for putting nails in a sign, they never thought someone was going to turn off the electric fences, steal some embryos, drive down a maintenance road in the middle of the dino area in a freakin' storm, and hit the sign, did they?!

The slip up is right, but not so precise. The sign described is not the one Nedri hit, but the one he sees after he runs over a wooden fence and blocks his jeep on some tree's roots, and before been eat by the spitting dinosaur. The arrow he sees first is pointing to the upside. Then he slips down the cliff and, when he raises up, you could newly see behind him the sign with the arrow now pointing to the left. I have saw and verified this blooper many times, and I'm sure of it.

You all have it wrong. Even you who says you have seen it a thousand times. This is such an obvious slip-up...I hope none of you call yourself JP fans. The sign Nedry hits is a totally different sign. After hitting it he drives on only to get his car stuck on a log. When he gets out the car he sees another sign, it is pointing to the left. Then he falls down the slope and when he gets up in the background you can see the sign again and it is pointing up.

Hey MIKE. I dont think the theme park was really expecting a car to hit the sign. And usually 'small wooden signs' dont need more than 1 nail. Plus if the sign didn't break and Nedry new exactly where to go it would have ruined the scene and that bit of the storyline a bit don't you think.
