Star Trek: Insurrection - Worf's Photon Rifle
When Worf fires his Photon Rifle at the tagger that is approaching him, it is out of ammo. So he smashes it.
Later on, Picard says "Can we fire here and not risk the collapse of the cave?". Data says "I believe so". So everyone fires. Why does Worf's Photon Rifle actually work, since it is out of ammo?

One has to assume that they brought extra ammo. There was plenty of time for a trained Klingon warrior to reload.

Just a thought maybe If He smashed it he might require a totally new rifle full of ammo. That might be why it worked.

I've not seen this movie in about 3 months, but I'd say his Phaser Rifle jammed. Cor blimey, 4 centurys in the future and guns still jam....shish :) Shen

They showed a crate full of rifles before they went down to the planet. Maybe they took extras?
