Moulin Rouge - Magic Typewriter
Well, my brother actually noticed this when we dragged him to watch the movie. When Christen goes to sell his typewriter, he trades it in and he goes over to pay Nicole Kidman's character (I forgot her name) her money for being with him. Then if you take notice, later on when he's writing about what happened while he was in Paris, you notice he has the same typewriter.

Look, Nicole Kidman's character's name was Satine and she died, obviously he went and bought back the same typewriter, so it's not that magical!

When Satine died, it was December 1899/1900. When Christian in writing his story, it is one year LATER! He says so in the beginning of the movie. And as was previously mentioned, she did die, and would have no need for the money so he took it back.

I am not sure if you realize this or not, but where Christian took his typewriter to was a Pawn shop, a pawn shop is where you take an item of your (If you are in need of cash or something like that) and you trade it in for money, once you have the money to pay back what has been given to you, you go back to the pawn shop and re-collect your item. I really hope this has helped, and as the others have said, When Christian has his typewriter again it is one year later, and I am sure he would have easily made the money back by then!

If you watch the movie carefully, you will notice that the typewriter has a different brand name on it at the end of the movie than it did at the beginning. The typewriter may look to be the same, but it's not.

No offense or anything, but I do agree with Satine. I mean, it was a whole year later and he could have bought a new type writer. i mean, if he liked to type so much, he probably would have gotten another type writer.

Satine, i hate you break it to you (because I Love this movie so much) but at the start of the movie It is 1900 and he is tell the story of what happened a year ago. Therefore the scene at the end of the movie is in the same time frame as the one at the start (If you get me). So the brand name shoudlnt have changed anyway!!! (I agree with the whole buying the typwriter back thing though)
