Patriot, The - Time Travel
In the battle scene, when both the British and the Americans use bayonets, the type of bayonet they use is the type that was not use until the Civil War; it fits over the barrel so that it is possible to shoot and use the bayonet at the same time. In the Revolutionary War, the bayonets fit inside the gun barrel, making it impossible to shoot with the bayonet on.

I'm sorry, but I believe you are mistaken. The sort of bayonets were in use during the revolutionary war period. I am a reenactor of the Napoleonic period, and we use exactly the same bayonets on the muskets.
