Stargate SG-1 - This Way Up
1: Watch the Stargate SG-1 episode 'The Enemy Within'
2. When Col. O'Neill enters the room Teal'c is mediating in, and the shot focuses on Teal'c, the snake on his gold tattoo is arched upwards.
3. The next scene Teal'c appears in, the snake had flipped, so it forms a 'u' shape, as it does in every other episode. It flips again at least once throughout the episode.

Actually, Teal'c's tattoo *is* just that - a tattoo. He would have received it when he received his primta (larval goa'uld) to show he 'belonged' to Apophis. He has a gold one becuase he was First Prime. They've shown us this in Threshold.

If you're going to post something, please check your facts. Teal'c's "Tatoo" is actually a brand. Apophis brands all his slaves with the double snake symbol. The process is to cut the design with a knife. Then, the wound is filled with molten gold. As Teal'c says "It is very painful."

ACTUALLY, What Teal'c has is...is this: Normal jaffa have a tattoo, but when they become the first prime to their Goa'uld, they get the gold poured on their forehead. It's mentioned in "1969".

Does it matter if it's a tattoo or not? The point is that it is different in different scenes. I think thats why it was written.

It's not really a tattoo. It's a brand mark, like we do with cattle. We make a brand mark and burn it on their butts as the Goa'uld did with the Jaffa on their foreheads. Except the Gs cut their skin and poured molten gold. I doubt we would do that to our cattle.

Talking of the gold in the forehead... He speaks of it a little in 1969 but where he talks about it more in detail.. I think it is called Bane when he was being mutated from the bug sting.

Actually, it isn't explained how it was done '1969', it just explains what it is. When Tel'C is asked what that is, he says something along the line of "A mark of slavery". However, when he is asked what it is (by a teen) in the episode where he is suspected of murder, he explains how it was done.
