At the very beginning of the movie, when Sean William Scott is practicing for his firefighters test, watch when the meteor lands on his car. the car flys up in the air, and you can clearly see the wind-shields pop out. Later, when he is taking the firefighters exam, the car has both wind-shields, and you can tell he didn't replace them because they are damaged quite immensely.
