I haven't watched this movie in awhile... but come to think of it... if what you say IS true, than weren't they celebrating his birthday a day early? Adam was born the day AFTER

Actually, even though it seems like the same night, the scene that shows them sleeping before the locks open the words "present day" come up on the screen. I guess this is supposed to imply that the scene just before it was a few years earlier. They didn't do a very good job showing the passage of time between the 2 scenes. If you missed the note that says, "present day" it would be easy to think that this was a slip-up.
