Very Brady Sequel, A - Mrs. Brady I Presume
I am pretty sure this is in the Brady Bunch Movie, the one where Carol's old husband comes to see her. Fast forward to the part where Carol's old husband comes to their house to visit her. Listen- He says, "is Mrs. Brady there?" Then, during their conversation he claims that he didn't know she got married again. Well, how did he know her name was Carol Brady??? She had to get married to Mike Brady to get that last name! Whoops!

Carol's original last name was never revealed so they couldn't just make one up. This movie was made to make fun of the whole series and a lot of it just doesn't make sense. This mistake, I believe, was intentional.

Well I think that in the first episode of the Brady Bunch when Mr. and Mrs. Brady got married, they did mention her maiden name. I'm not sure, but I think they did.

Carol's maiden name is Martin. She's also a widow like Mike. Didn't she find it strange that her dead husband comes back in the movie?

OK.... here's the deal... in the movie Carol's "1st husband" was only trying to gain access to the home because he wanted the "horse statue" that was valued priceless. He came up with the story of being her first husband, and learned from the auction that the person that purchased the "horse" was Mrs. Brady. He didn't make a "mistake" or an error in th script...only an error in the charatures thought because he really isn't Carol's long lost love.

Bubble is right. In the very first episode of the Brady Bunch, it is revealed that Carol's maiden name is Tyler. It is also revealed in that episode that her first married name was Martin. It is never revealed, however that her first husband was named Roy (I believe they made that up for the movie.) It was also never revealed that her first husband died. At least not in episodes of the show itself.

I don't remember Carol's maiden name being discussed in the pilot episode. It did not mention anything about her first husband either. When Sherwood Schwartz made the show, he created it on the idea of parents being divorced/widowed and getting remarried. He originally wanted Carol to be the first divorced woman on television, but to prevent any sort of problems at the time, he kept her past history without disclosure. For more information about the show's secrets, refer to Barry Williams' book "Growing Up Brady."

The whole point of the movie was to make fun of the series!
