Back To The Future - Off? On?
When Marty is escaping from the Libyans, the time circuit is already on when he moves his hand from the ignition to the gearshift. But when he shifts the second time, the time circuit seems to be off until he bumps its power switch.

Actually, correct me if I'm wrong but I think he was shifting the time circuit. That's what it looked like to me. I could be wrong though. When he was shifting he was turning it on and off.

Jodie is right this time He is shifting the time circuits and not the gear shift However that brings up the point how did he get a Delorean to 90 in first gear?

Oops How about a short circuit? In BTTF2 he does not switch it on and it blinks on to the wild west several times before the fateful trip

As Nathan says in BTTF2 it shows that the time circuit is broke and that it switchs on and off all by itself. That could very possibly what had happened at that time.

I don't what all of you guys are talking about. How the hell can you shift a time cercuit. It's on and off that's it. The time curcuit probably just blinked as the car shifted gears because as Nathan said, well there is no way that a car can get to 90 mph without blowing its engine on first gear. And besides when the Doc shows Marty the time machine for the first time, he turns on the Time Curcuit not by a shifting up and down knob, but more like a switch like a lightswitch. So all in all, the shifter for the car had absolutely nothing to do with the time curcuit switch. I think it was just blinking as the car shifted everytime.

he is shifting the gears, this is a true slip up because doc turned them on after enstien came back even tho they should already be on and then he hits it with his arm to turn it on again and it still has nov 5 1955 on it
