When Ash, Misty, and Brock are in the water on the way to New Island, they keep popping up and are bone dry! Plus when they get to the island they are still dry!!!!
The directors pointed this out on the DVD commentary. It's a cartoon for crying out loud. Plus, remember that electronic invitation? How the heck did it survive the water and why didn't it float out of Ash's pocket if his pocket wasn't even air tight? Cartoons. Magic. ~_^
