Raiders of the Lost Ark - Let's Get This Over With!
During the basket chase through the Cairo marketplace, there is the famous scene where the crowd parts and Indy is confronted by the huge swinging the huge sword. Rumor has it that he was actually supposed to fight the guy, but on that particular day, Harrison Ford was suffering from the flu, so he instead asked if he could just shoot the guy. I don't know if this qualifies as a Slip up, but it's not an easter egg!

It's not a rumor. What really happened was Hariison Ford had dissintary (sp) and couldn't stop from going to the bathroom every five minutes. So, instead of an elaborate fight scene, he opted to shot the man for comic relief.

It wasn't quite improv, but yes, it was originally a big fight, and they had to modify the script because Harrison had such a bad case of the runs that he couldn't do much, or be on scene for more than a couple minutes at a time.

on the new boxed set release they tell the story of what happened and basically what happened was that he was incredibly sick including a dangerously high fever that day.

I bought the box set of the three films plus the making of and the fight scene was to be used but Steven Spielberg thought that the fight would take away the emphasis from Indy's task rescuing Marion, the actor who was to fight Harrison had spent months rehearsing the scene, oh well them's the breaks

Ford did look miserable during the these scenes, didn't he? ...This happened to me on a day my band was recording..I couldn't get a single track in.

Actually it was suppose to be a fight but he couldn't get it right and after multiple tries of shooting the scene he got tired and just pulled the gun out and shot the guy (even the guy didn't know what was up but he played along) and the director thought it was really funny so he kept it as is.
