Walker, Murray - The King of Gaffes :)
* "The most important part of the car is the nut that holds the wheel"
* "How you can crash into a wall without it being there in the first place is beyond me!"
* "Here in Malaysia, it doesn't rain here by the bucketful, it rains by the ocean"
* "(Ralph) Schumacher now screaming ahead with (Mikka) Hakkinen breathing down his exhaust pipe"
He's made thousands more gaffes than just these...but they are all I can remember. Feel free to add some more.

My 2 favorite Murry Walker quotes: "Excuse me while I interrupt myself" "Unless I'm very much mistaken...and I am very much mistaken". F1 just will not be the same.

Some of my favorites are 'I'm ready to stop my start watch' 'He's obviously gone in for a pit stop, I say obviously, because I cannot see anything' 'He is exactly 10 seconds ahead, or more approximately, 9.86 seconds' Saying that, One of the greatest commentators, and a true ambassador for the sport and for the UK.

Soem others I think are: "There's nothing wrong with his car except that it's on fire" "He's the only man on the track, except for his car" "That car's unique, except for the one behind it which is identical" On his last race, he said "One light, two lights, three lights, four laps, five lights, go, go ,go" I think they are called Murrayisms.

Why is it a slip-up to say that the most important part of a car is the nut that holds the wheel on? Sounds accurate to me, in a funny sort of way!

I remember Murray saying at one grand prix "I just saw a piece fly off the car" Martin Brundle replied "I think you will find it was his tear off strip Murray"

Murray Walker IS the king of gaffs. I really wish I could remember some of his blunders. I loved his commentary, simple because he was so damn funny. Good job remembering those gaff, now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have to stop, as I have a lump in my throat. LOL

Murray Walker is not the King of Gaffes. The mistakes he made during his F1 commentary where genuine mistakes. These made went some way to making Murray's style unique. To those who criticize Murray, I would say, next time you watch the F1, turn the sound down, and commentate. See how far you can get without making a mistake or repeating yourself. Not very far, I think. www.doubleonothing.com
