At the very beginning of the movie there's a car chase involving Riggs and Mertaugh (spelling??). They are chasing a Red BMW and they are driving a brand new station wagon. Throughout the chase, the wagon is taking a severe beating and at the end, the BMW ends up being flipped and Riggs and Mertaugh get momentarily help up by a squad car getting in their way. At this moment, look at the hood of the station wagon, it's not all the way up, but it's UN latched. When the squad car gets out of their way and they go to the BMW, the hood is latched again. It's a little slip-up, but it's still a slip-up.
