Buffy: The Vampire Slayer - Magic Hair Dye
If you watch any episode of Buffy with Spike in it all the time, keep an eye out for this:
Spike's hair is obviously dyed, right? That is no question. But, if you look carefully, you will see that in one scene, he has a little bit of brown roots, and in the next, NONE! Over and over, his hair isn't perfectly dyed, then it is, then it isn't again!! They should be able to keep on top of that, wouldn't you think?

James Marsters has his hair bleached every two weeks "because vampire-hair don't grow" (James Marsters, London, 2000). Apparently the whole bleaching process is excruciatingly painful with "sores and pustules" a common side effect. They can't keep on top of this, because it would probably kill him, his scalp needs some time to recover before they bleach him again. You're right though - that two-week gap is long enough for the regrowth to be noticable. It wouldn't be a problem at first - they could do his hair thw same amount of time before filming each appearence, but when he became a regular, it became more of a problem.

whenever you die your hair some of the chemicals get into your scalp and into your body so they have to give him time in between to bleach the hair. that's why normal people only get their hair dyed probably once a month maybe twice.
