Pulp Fiction - Lip Read This, Uma
When Vincent goes to pick up Mia for the first date, he enters the house (reads the note on the door), then Mia speaks to him over the intercom. He responds "where's the intercom?", she guides him there "warmer... warmer.." but when he gets there and speaks, she asks him to PUSH THE BUTTON and then speak. Must've taken lip-reading in college or something.

Vincent Vega stands there when he found where the intercom was. He learned forward to say something. This was obvious but Mia wouldn't have heard him and told him to use the button. Watch the movie again.

It's not too hard to tell if someone is talking by looking at them, as she was watching him on the camera..

Ok, all you need to do is watch the scene, watch the body gestures and interpret them. So, when Mia talks to vince for the first time, he extends his arms in the universal gesture of "what the hell are you on about?". She notices this too, and guides him to the intercom. He leans forward to talk into it and leans back again. This signals that he's just spoken into it and is waiting for a reply. Mia tells him to push the button if he wants to talk.

Vincent leaned towards the intercom to speak to Mia, but since she didnt hear anything at ther end, he obviously didn't know to press the button, so she tells him DUH!!
