They aired the movie on TV last week, so this is from memory:

The carrier Charleton Heston's character flies off is the Yorktown. At the the end of the movie, the same carrier docks back at Pearl Harbor. Go check your history books, but I believe the Yorktown sank after Midway and never made it back to Pearl Harbor.
